How to Build a Strong Training Routine
A good training routine is not just a “list of exercises” – it can be a combination of the athlete’s goals, baseline fitness, recovery and balance.
When creating a routine, always consider the following:
Goal-Specific Planning
- Strength, Speed, Endurance – Regular goals and objectives.
- Athletes should focus on a balanced strength + agility program.
Progressive Overload
- Increasing weight, repetitions, speed, or volume by 5-10% from week to week.
- This keeps the body from getting bored and continues to grow.
Recovery Strategies
- Get 7-9 hours of sleep
- Stretching, hydration, light exercise days
Continuity Tracking
- Keeping a weekly log will help you see progress.
